Live desktop backgrounds that follow the real time of day, the season and the weather. They're web pages, so they're free and always up to date.
Helsinki
The skyline from the sea under the real sky over Helsinki right now: the sun and moon where they are, today's weather, the city lighting up at dusk and the northern lights when they're out.

You need a small free app that shows a web page as your desktop background. Copy a wallpaper's address above, then:
Install Lively Wallpaper, which is free and open source, from the Microsoft Store or with:
winget install rocksdanister.LivelyWallpaper
Open Lively and click + (Add wallpaper).
Paste the address and press Enter.
Click the new wallpaper to put it on your screen. With more than one screen, pick which one first.
Lively pauses wallpapers while a game or other app is full screen, so they don't cost anything then. To make the light follow your mouse, turn on mouse input for web wallpapers in Lively's settings.
Install Plash, which is free, from the Mac App Store.
Click Plash's icon in the menu bar and choose Add Website.
Paste the address and save it.
Turn on "Browsing mode" in Plash when you want the wallpaper to react to clicks.
KDE Plasma: right-click the desktop, choose Configure Desktop and Wallpaper, then Get New Plugins and install HTML Wallpaper.
Pick HTML Wallpaper as the wallpaper type and paste the address.
Other desktops (GNOME, Hyprland, Sway) have no simple way to show a web page as the background yet.
